I was recently inspired to do a post like this by Amber from XOXO, Am. Since I’m always interested to know what people are into, I thought maybe you all might want to know what I’ve been into lately. I haven’t done a post like this in forever! Since I canceled my Ipsy subscription (in an effort to save money and cut back on consumption), I realized I haven’t reviewed much of anything either. So this week I’m just going to catch you guys up on what I’ve been doing.
Reading:
I have been completely enthralled by the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas. I’m so proud of myself, I went from reading roughly 1 book a month to about 3 with this series.The series is fantasy with a female protagonist, which I love. She’s a trained assassin with a secret. There’s a lot of layers to the series and every book just gets deeper and deeper. I’m trying not to read them too fast because the last book comes out this year.
Watching:
Nate and I finally watched the second season of Stranger Things! It was really exciting. I’ve been trying to keep up with all my shows but there are so many that it’s difficult. We did also catch up on Lucifer and the Good Place (super bummed that’s over). I’m really behind on This is Us and Scandal. But I did binge watch the last 2 seasons of Reign and now I’m completely obsessed with European Royals (again). I’ve always loved historical fiction but I love these shows even more because what you think is made up for TV drama is usually based on things that actually happened. Because of that, I recently started The Tudors but I’m only 2 episodes in and I’m not sure I’m going to stick with it. There’s also Medici Master’s of Florence on Netflix which looks good so that will probably be next.
Nate and I also finally caught up on season 12 of Supernatural! We took about a year and a half break from the show because we were obsessed for a while. And now we’re trying to figure out the best way to catch on up season 13!
I was also really into The Gifted on Fox and Alias Grace on Netflix!

Listening:
As always, I’ve been loving Lord Huron, and I’m so excited that they’re coming out with a new album in April. They’ve been dropping singles here and there and they’re amazing. Vance Joy has also been doing the same thing in preparation for their album drop on February 23rd! I follow a playlist on Spotify called Songs Taylor [Swift] Loves and I’ve found a lot of great songs from that. One I’ve played relentlessly is Truly, Madly, Deeply covered by Yoke Lore.

One last thing I’ve been crazy about is the Best of Friends Podcast. It’s a podcast all about the show Friends and I have been binge listening to this for weeks now. I’ve been trying to watch and listen to the show in tandem but it’s really hard because I love them both so I keep getting ahead on one or the other. I’m currently way ahead on the show so I took a break and started watching Parks and Rec as well.
It probably sounds like I have a lot of free time but I just love listening to podcasts, music, and shows, while I do other things.

I haven’t been buying much lately but these two things were gifts from Christmas and I’ve been loving them ever since.
Not Your Mother’s Repair and Protect Leave in Conditioner – I have to put something in my hair after I take a shower otherwise it’s completely unruly when it dries and this is one of my favorite things I’ve tried. It smells amazing, it’s all natural, and it makes my hair so soft.
Mario Badescu Facial Spray – I love this stuff! It’s aloe, herbs, and rosewater, and it just wakes up my face either in the morning or anytime of the day.

I feel like ever since the wedding in December I’ve been trying to get my bearings back. There is definitely a withdrawal period where you think you’re forgetting something or there’s something you need to be doing.

I do have some plans in the works for what’s next after all the wedding stuff so look out for an announcement soon. In the meantime, tell me what you’ve been into lately.
