To mark the start of Taylor Swift's weekend run at Wembley Stadium, the Royal Guards performed a version of her soundtrack hit Shake It Off today.

The performance has gone viral on social media, and whilst the twist has delighted many fans - there are some unhappy viewers who have slammed that they are "paying their taxes" for this.

On TikTok, one unimpressed fan commented: "Performing a version of Taylor Swift hit Shake It Off." Another person moaned: "Waste of public money."

A third disgruntled fan also chimed in: "London's got bigger problems and this is what we focus on." On the other hand, many people have defended the band for their quirky performance.

One person said: "Why are you guys complaining like you might not like her music but she is adding £1 billion to the UK economy and it will do wonders for us."

Another also typed: "Taylor swift is literally boosting the uk economy by hundreds of millions if not billions of pounds. I think this is well deserved."

The American pop star is kick-starting her weekend run of her Eras Tour at Wembley Stadium this weekend. She has previously performed in Edinburgh, Liverpool and Cardiff over the last fortnight.

Lloyds bank estimated in a report that more than 600 of their customers have come forward to report being scammed, losing an average of £332 each - and with some losing £1,000.

Liz Ziegler, fraud prevention director at Lloyds Bank, said to the BBC: "Cruel fraudsters have wasted no time in targeting her most loyal fans as they rush to pick up tickets for her must-see concerts."

She added: "It's easy to let our emotions get the better of us when we find out our favourite artist is going to be performing live, but it's important not to let those feelings cloud our judgement when trying to get hold of tickets."
