For about $190 on sale, the Asus Prime Z790-P Wi-Fi is an impressive budget motherboard for Intel-based builds. It has three M.2 sockets, four SATA ports, sufficient power delivery, and speedy performance. Unless you must have PCIe 5.0 M.2 support, it's well worth a look.

The budget-minded Asus TUF Gaming Z790-Pro Wi-Fi is a solid "Raptor Lake Refresh" option for the money, with native 14th Gen processor support, plenty of M.2 and SATA connectivity, and capable power delivery.

The ProArt B760-Creator D4 is an affordable Asus ATX motherboard for creative users that supports lower-cost DDR4. With twin LAN ports, ample M.2 slots, and plenty of USB ports, it's a valid option if you can live without Wi-Fi or USB Type-C video functionality.

The Asus ROG Strix B760-F Gaming Wi-Fi is a well-equipped mainstream-model Intel LGA1700 motherboard, with premium audio, lots of storage, and a high-end look. Just know that cheaper B760-chipset options are available with nearly as many features.

The Asus TUF Gaming B550M-Plus (Wi-Fi) delivers a strong feature set for AMD Ryzen upgraders and builders that shows the dollar-saving strengths of the B550 chipset versus the X570.

If you're willing to pay the (necessarily) big bucks to create a new TRX40-based Threadripper desktop, few motherboards on any platform can match the Asus ROG Zenith II Extreme for sheer robustness and feature set.
